Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions

We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

At the Exploitation Office, we play an important role in developing and building the capital. We work with many of Sweden's most interesting and notable urban development projects. The Exploitation Office is one of the city's administrations and is under the Exploitation Committee. We are responsible for the development and management of the city's land, exploitation for housing and business areas, and the city's investments in streets and parks in exploitation projects.

Welcome to us

Are you an experienced, driven, and solution-focused project manager who wants to help drive an exciting and complex project with many stakeholders? Then you could be the one we are looking for to fill the role of project manager within the Söderstaden unit and the Slakthusområdet project.

In the Slakthusområdet project, we work together with the project's builders and contractors to create a new district with approximately 3,000 homes and 15,000 workplaces located in a public environment with new parks and squares. Slakthusområdet is developing into an urban district focused on food, culture, and experiences where everyone, residents and visitors, should feel welcome. The assignment also includes facilitating a new subway station with two exits in the area in dialogue with the Administration for Extended Subway (FUT). Slakthusområdet is one of the city's largest and most exciting projects with many fun challenges where collaboration is key. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2033.

The Söderstaden unit includes, in addition to Slakthusområdet, the Globen area and has seven employees in the roles of project managers and construction project managers. You will also collaborate with colleagues who are specialists in areas such as traffic, landscape, and environment, as well as lawyers, valuers, and land managers. The project organization consists of a total of 35 engaged employees and consultants. The project has access to a project office located in Slakthusområdet.

We offer

At the Exploitation Office, we offer an open and unpretentious work environment in a safe workplace. Job satisfaction is important, and we have a strong focus on development, engagement, and professionalism. With us, you will work with over 300 colleagues who are highly engaged and passionate about developing and building the city of Stockholm. We offer you a permanent position with a collective agreement and a benefits package that includes occupational pension, wellness allowance, wellness hour, parental leave supplement, the opportunity to exchange vacation day supplements, and flexible working hours, where we have a flexible approach to the possibility of partially working from home.

Your role

The Slakthusområdet project is divided into several underlying sub-projects. As a project manager, you will be responsible for the progress of one or more of the main project's sub-projects from the initial idea until completion.

Your tasks include, among others:

  • leading, directing, and coordinating the work with the sub-project, both internally and externally, which includes responsibility for scope, time, and budget
  • preparing materials for the Exploitation Committee and the City Council
  • establishing calculations and ensuring decision support, conducting economic analyses and risk assessments, and following up on the sub-project through documentation and communication of decisions made
  • negotiating and establishing contract proposals, among other things in connection with land lease and lease agreements as well as the purchase and sale of properties.

In this role, you will report to the unit manager for Söderstaden. The planning manager for Söderstaden is responsible for the overall planning and operational progress of the Slakthusområdet project as a whole and acts as support in the sub-projects.

Your qualifications and experience

We see that you, as a candidate, have:

  • several years of experience as a project manager.
  • experience and good knowledge of the land development process, contract issues, and preparing service statements
  • good communication skills to represent the sub-project internally and externally as well as in compiling decision support
  • good competence in financial management and the ability to maintain and manage timelines
  • good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and other legislation related to exploitation projects
  • a university degree in urban planning or equivalent.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in municipal and/or public administration.

Personal qualities

We place great importance on your personal qualities and competencies as the role requires a high ability to communicate, collaborate, and build good relationships. We see that you have a strong interest in urban development and that you are a pronounced problem solver with a flexible approach where you can reprioritize your work to achieve results when needs and conditions change. Furthermore, we see that you have a good ability to plan and manage your work independently.

We look forward to welcoming you to contribute to creating a culture that is developing, engaging, and professional.
